5 months

My baby is 5 months old. The time is flying and I want it to stop. I want him to stay little forever. But, he is growing and growing every day and his little personality is beginning to shine. He's between 18-19lbs now and weighs only a couple of pounds less than his big sister, Campbell (she isn't even 22lbs). He continues to amaze us with his happy, easy-going personality. He rarely cries or even fusses and is just a happy little man.

Penn at 5 months:

Sleeping through the night (with the occasional wake-up for a 4am snack)

Rolling from back to belly constantly...he now doesn't really remember how to go from belly to back and gets quite frustrated when he's stuck

Loves his exersaucer and jumparoo! (I have great video of him jumping up and down in his jumparoo, but am having uploading issues).

Sucks on his hands, his toys, and pretty much anything else he can get in his mouth!

He loves bath time...it totally relaxes him and he enjoys the warm water.

He's getting great at sitting up for short periods of time! He's able to maintain his balance and even tries to grab for toys or things in front of him (which usually results in a tumble). He likes to sit up and look around at his surroundings! (I also have video of this, but due to uploading issues I can't post it).

He loves to grab on to our fingers and grip them in his chubby hands. Adorable.

In the past month we have really developed a routine for Penn. He wakes up around 7-7:30, takes a nap at 9:30ish, naps again around 1:30ish and sometimes will take a short nap in the early evenings. He is always rubbing his eyes and ready for bed right around 8pm. He goes down without a fuss and sleeps well throughout the night. He's eating 6 or so bottles a day and usually takes between 6-7ounces at each feeding.

Penn had his first cold this month...so sad and its still lingering. Poor guy has been so congested that we haven't been able to try cereal or solids with him yet.

Always falls asleep on his left side with his right arm over his face. Always.

This boy loooooovvveeeessss his daddy. He just giggles and giggles at him. It melts my heart to see my boys interact. So precious.

Penn also adores his sisters and they absolutely love him. I usually leave him at home with Aaron when I take the girls to preschool, and they always say "bye, bye Penn" and give him big kisses. He loves to watch them, constantly giggles at them and sometimes it seems that he thinks he's big like them. I can't wait to see their bond grow as they get older.

Below are some shots I took of our little man this month. A few of these were homework for my photography class that I thought turned out pretty well (some had lighting issues for sure).

WE LOVE YOU PENN THOMAS.

Penn's new favorite thing is to smack his lips...here's a picture demonstrating how he sucks on them. Adorable.

Chillin' in his bumbo

Hanging out in the wagon at the pumpkin patch.

Loving the exersaucer

Always grabbing at toys. He grabs EVERYTHING. I was at lunch with some girlfriends last week and he literally grabbed my plate right off the table. He's great at grasping his toys and transferring them from hand to hand.

Cute bum
